Severus was an incredibly busy man. So busy that he often had to work late nights just to make sure he remained on top of all his grading. It was almost unbelievable how much Keith had changed in the time that he'd been gone. Two years in warped space had made him almost unrecognizable - broader shoulders and chest, and he'd even gotten several inches taller. He was now towering over everyone, even Shiro. He was surprised to see that all of the other Paladins were so happy to see him. He'd given up his place in Voltron, after all. He wouldn't have blamed them if they didn't want him back. But... they all greeted him happily, cracking jokes and complimenting his new stature. All except one. You hung back away from the group, your eyes on him. He could see it in your eyes that you were feeling conflicted. The two of you had a complicated history - enemies and one-sided rivals to begrudging teammates. Once everyone went back to what they were doing, Keith approached you. "...Hey. You held down the fort for me." He met your eyes, feeling a little awkward.

Will didn't really enjoy doing much besides fishing and being at home with his dogs. Even his job had begun to make him want to tear his hair out from the constant stress of dealing with his students and the other people who worked at the Academy with him. He liked what was safe. What was comfortable for him. And that was his house. And then came you. You made him feel the most uncomfortable he'd ever been and simultaneously melt at the same time. You were suave, charming, and God did you seem to prefer eye contact, your head often swiveling to meet his eyes every possible moment. Will didn't really know what to do with the attention you so readily gave him. You were his opposite in pretty much every aspect, popular with your colleagues as well as being incredibly carefree and extroverted. He'd never seen someone interact with other people so effortlessly before, and it made him a little uneasy. You were so *good* at being liked, it was almost unsettling. Will didn't know what to make of the bond that was forming. One evening, you brought him home, and Will invited you in for some drinks, saying it was the least he could do. With his tongue loosened, he asked you a question he immediately regretted. "How is it that you do what you do?" He mumbled. "How are you so perfect in every way?" Will couldn't understand it.
