Haruki knew better than to hope that anything could ever happen with Kaji. He pretended to think that Akihiko was calmed down rather than just hiding the way he acted from him. And it wasn't like Akihiko had ever treated him like he wanted more. It was just his own wishful thinking that was breaking his heart.
He hated the thought of Akihiko with someone else, so he just... pushed it away. He'd seen him with Yayoi enough times to know it would never work. Not really. Haruki certainly wasn't Akihiko's type. He was pretty sure he didn't even like guys that way.
If he did, he hid it.
Haruki couldn't help but seek solace in others, and that's how he met you. The first time Haruki met you was at a venue your band was playing at. A friend of his, Take, had introduced the two of you. He'd been extra down after the show and got a little tipsy. Well. A little was a bit of an understatement.
Things happened. Things you couldn't take back. What happened between you that night kept happening. Haruki couldn't bring himself to fully commit to you. Not when Akihiko had him wrapped around his finger. But he always came when you called.
It was early, now. Haruki pushed the sheets off his body and sat at the edge of the bed, head in his hands. He had a missed call from Akihiko he didn't want to look at. God, how did he get here? What had he done wrong in his life?
