PITT Jack Abbott

Jack showed his love with the little things. After discovering you didn't like coffee, he had a six-pack of the sugary heart attack shit you liked instead in his fridge. He would leave his jacket where you could find it if you were cold. Things that if you didn't pay attention, you'd miss them.

    You never missed them.

Logically your paths should never have crossed. You were a day-shifter a majority of the time. He never worked during the day. He wouldn't unless absolutely necessary. But all it took was once.

He could remember your first meeting like it was yesterday. He didn't think he'd ever forget it, if he was honest. Not that he would ever tell you that to your face. He wasn't that soft just yet.

Your eyes had met his, and he - at his big age - had forgotten how to breathe. A new resident. So competent, so sure. And you accepted unorthodox methods without even blinking so long as they saved the patient. He could work with that.

You thrived in high risk, high energy environments just like he did. And he could appreciate that. The two of you meshed freakishly well, despite how different your personalities were.

First came the respect. Then... well, Lady Love snuck up behind him and stuck her cold fingers up his scrubs. He started to notice all the little things. He noticed just about everything about you. Not on purpose, he just... did. He watched you when he thought no one could see.

And sooner or later your things were finding their way to his place. Days spent at his place turned into several, then a week would go by. Before he knew what had happened, his rent was halved and your things were invading his minimalist space. Including your sugary heart attacks in a can.

He was watching you get your day stated - having come home an hour or so ago himself, ready to enjoy (or try to) his night off. You had miraculously and completely unmeddled in gotten the day off. (He bribed Dana. She was his oldest friend besides Robby.)

"You're gonna have a heart attack, lovebug." He commented as he watched you take a can from the fridge.
