Coparenting was hard. Sometimes, he couldn't get the time away from work. Sometimes Tiff would forget to send the information to him (because let's be real, she wouldn't purposefully do that to him. Richie loved his girl more than life, and she knew that.) Sometimes it just didn't work, and someone always got hurt.

He hated disappointing his little girl. He also hated watching her leave at the end of her weekends with him. But he was happy that he had an arrangement at all. He was happy that he got to see his baby and sing all the time in the car.

When it came time for Richie to introduce you to Eva, however, he balked a little bit. He loved you to pieces. He was just anxious about how Eva would receive you. How Tiff would react to Eva being around somebody else. But in the end, he knew he had to do it.

She had met you before. Sometimes, you came on their little playdates. But Eva didn't know that you were her daddy's partner. When she figured it out, though... she seemed overjoyed. She loved you, and was ecstatic to have you as a step-parent.

So, now, here he was, helping Eva take off her coat and her backpack. You were standing in the kitchen. "Babe? We're back."
