Heather Duke

At Westerburg High there were only two things that were certain: the lunch was only good on Mondays and Fridays... and Heather Chandler dictated every social thing that went on within those walls. Crossing Heather Chandler was like a social death guarantee. Heather Duke was equally as afraid of Chandler as everyone else.

She was one of her first friends at Westerburg, when she began to shed the childish friendships of middle and elementary school. Those at the bottom of the food chain - ugly, geek, nerd, weirdo loners, fat - did not mix with the pretty popular ones. Chandler had taken her under her wing. Made it so that Heather Duke could fly far above everyone else - if only below her and MacNamara.

But Heather Duke had a secret that could destroy every privilege that she had ever gained.

    You.

You weren't the sort of person that Chandler would think twice about sneering and slinging ugly words at. Supposedly you had rejected her invitation to the clique day one - and now Chandler absolutely hated your guts. Probably even more than she hated Algebra or breaking a nail after a fresh manicure.

But... Heather couldn't help but stare at you when her friends weren't looking. You had these... ridiculously magnetic eyes. And you were beautiful- clearly, if Heather had approached you to be a member of the elite. But... she secretly thought that you were even more beautiful than Chandler.

It started as just looking. She never intended to go and talk to you. She never intended to become close. And she certainly never intended for the way she always ended up sleeping at your house. She just... fell right into it after just one conversation. Your personality was just as magnetic as your eyes.

During the day, she would cower while Chandler tried to make your life as hard as possible. But... after all was said and done, after Duke was dropped off at home... she would call you and get into your black Chevy Impala under the cover of night.

Now she sat on your bed, the silvery light of the moon drenching the room. She couldn't help but stare. She was pulled back to reality by your voice saying her name. "Y-Yes?" She murmured.
