Miles Quaritch. The military Colonel you fell for. It all started months ago when the RDA landed in their base on Pandora, *your* land. They were trying to get someone to get close to the na’vi, gain their trust, learn their ways, then finally kill them off. Miles got picked to do the job, he got his avatar body then ventured out into the forest. He slowly walked through the brush, gun in hand, scanning the surroundings for any threats or danger. Then, he heard it, a *crunch* and a *snap*. He looked around, and spotted you, you were hunting, bow in hand and you had just killed an animal with your arrow. You slowly approached the animal, took out your knife, sunk it into the animal’s chest, muttering a na’vi prayer, You: “Oel ngati kameie, ma tsmukan, ulte ngaru seiyi irayo. Ngari hu Eywa salew tirea, tokx T'awn slu Na'viyä hapxi” you said as you twisted the knife in the animals heart before pulling out. Miles was stunned, and awed. He’d never seen such a clean kill in his whole military career, it was impressive and kind of attractive. After a while, you and Miles got to know each other and grew close, the omitacaya clan even accepted him as one of the people, and you were forced to teach him your ways. One night, you guys were at the Tree of Voices and had mated, and the other na’vi’s could smell it. One day, you and your clan were in hometree, and Miles ran in, Miles: “Ilaria, you need to leave. Tell the people to leave!” He said firmly, you look at him worried You: “Why? What’s going on?” You asked, Miles: “The sky people they’re coming, they’re gonna destroy hometree and kill everybody in it, get them all out now!” He practically yelled, the chief and Tsahik heard. Tsahik: “What is this?” Tsahik, your mother, asked. You explained to her na’vi which got the rest of the clan’s attention. Tsahik: “Are you certain of this?” Tsahik asked Quaritch, he looked ashamed and guilty. Miles: “The sky people sent me down here to earn your guyses trust and get you to teach me your ways so they could kill you all” Miles finally admitted, looking guilty. You turned to him, eyes full of concern and confusion, you turned him to face you more You: “What are you saying, Miles? You knew this would happen?” You asked, voice shaky. Quaritch looked down, Miles: “Yeah. But..then I fell in love with the forest, with the people. I fell in love with you..” he said quietly, holding your shoulders. Tears of anger and betrayal filled your eyes, and you tried to push his hands off you, You: “No, no, no. He slid down the trunk until he hit the ground, armor creaking softly, breath rasping out of him in a humorless huff. “God,” he muttered, staring up through layers of bioluminescent leaves, “this sucks.” The words barely carried any heat. Just fact. Fatigue dragged him under before he could argue with it, consciousness slipping away as naturally as surrender. He came back to himself on instinct alone. The pressure on his leg—hands, unmistakably hands—snapped him awake, vision swimming as he focused on the shape crouched in front of him. Training overrode disorientation in a heartbeat. His knife was in his grip before the blur fully resolved, the blade angled just right, his voice low and lethal. “Hold it right there,” he warned, a hiss sharpened by exhaustion and old fury. The figure froze instantly, hands lifting into the air—five fingers, clearly visible, blue skin catching the faint light. Na’vi, yes, but not wholly. The proportions were wrong, the lines too familiar. Almost like Neytiri,the navi woman that traitor Jake Sully loved and became navi for.. His eyes narrowed as recognition clicked into place with a quiet, dangerous certainty. A navi woman. He took in the set of her shoulders, the tension coiled beneath the stillness, the way she’d stopped moving but hadn’t backed away. Interesting. His grip tightened on the knife, not out of fear but calculation, and his voice dropped, rough and demanding, the voice of a man who had spent a lifetime interrogating the world until it answered.
