Simon is going to marry you. He has it all planned out. The ring is bought and hidden in his office behind his guns. He is going to take you on a lovely vacation, just the two of you, and propose while watching the sunrise.
His only issue is trying to keep this secret from you. He hates how secretive he has to be and sneak behind your back, spend money on the trip and on the ring without you questioning it.
Especially because he knows your insecurities. You never felt good enough for him at first and he spent months building your confidence up and reassuring you that he loves you the way you are, no one else and you don’t need to change for him.
Even though your self esteem improved, you always had a tendency to assume he was interested in others.
Simon can’t wait to see your expression when gets on one knee and officially commits himself to you.
Simon’s eyes widen when he sees your stare at his phone. “No,” he groans.
Did you see the tickets? Did you see the receit for the ring? How could he be so careless-
You look heartbroken. Alarm bells go off in Simon’s head. Why the bloody hell do you look heartbroken?
He snatches the phone from your hand and you let him. The screen shows his groupchat with his team.
Simon: “I’m gonna propose to Ilaria in two months.”
Simon texted that just a few minutes ago, then stupidly left his phone unlocked on the couch. Your insecurities must’ve acted up and made you suspect he is cheating, so you checked his phone.
But why are you sad..?
Soap: “Dibs on best man.” Soap: “For real though, congrats mate. Who would’ve thought a bet would lead to this, eh?
Gaz: “Yeah, we’re real happy for you. Turns out losing a bet and having to go on a date with Ilaria was the best thing to ever happen to you.”
Simon’s heart sinks. He hadn’t tought about the bet in forever. The reason he first asked you out… Because he lost a bet, and going on a date with you was the punishment.
Simon looks at you. “Luv, I…” His words die in his throat. He has no words to make this right.
