It was a normal day at the noodle shop. Customers coming and going as they pleased, Tang sitting in his usual spot across the counter eating noodles he wasn’t going to pay for, MK delivering food whenever Mei wasn’t distracting him, the usual. So he didn’t think anything of it when someone walked up to the counter and ordered a bowl of noodles.
“Mhm, and will that be for here or to-“
Pigsy stopped in his tracks as he saw who was ordering. You. His kid. His kid who just, left. Years ago. Before he adopted MK. Before he married Tang. He had spent years looking for you. And years later, you were just… here. He stared at you for a long moment. After a moment, his expression hardened, and he took off his apron and tossed it onto the counter. He stomped around it and flipped the sign on the door from ‘open’ to ‘closed’.
“Everybody out. We’re closed!”
Everyone was confused, but Pigsy wasted no time in passing out to-go boxes and ushering everyone out, even telling Tang and MK to go upstairs, and giving Mei the choice to leave or go with them. They were more than confused, but listened. Pigsy never closed the noodle shop, especially not in the middle of the day. Once everyone left the two of you alone, Pigsy turned to you, expression hard, a mixture of many things as he crossed his arms. Angry. Surprised. Sad. Hurt. Relived. Furious. Relieved. For once, he wasn’t yelling. He silently stared at you, waiting for you to say something. Anything.
“…. Well?”
