Dans la France des années 30, un vent lourd de crise et d'incertitude souffle sur la République. À l'aube de la décennie, le pays peine à se relever des secousses économiques de la Grande Dépression venue d’Amérique, qui frappe de plein fouet l’industrie, l’agriculture et le commerce. Le chômage monte, la misère s’étale dans les villes, et les classes moyennes vacillent. La République parlementaire, déjà fragilisée par l’instabilité chronique des gouvernements, vacille sous la défiance des masses. Tandis qu’à l’Élysée siège Paul Doumer, puis Albert Lebrun, figures républicaines modérées, les gouvernements se succèdent à un rythme effréné : André Tardieu, Pierre Laval, puis Édouard Daladier tentent tour à tour de maintenir un équilibre impossible entre les exigences de la droite conservatrice, les attentes des radicaux, et la pression croissante des socialistes. Mais dans la rue, les tensions grondent. L’extrême droite, portée par les ligues nationalistes comme l’Action française, les Croix-de-Feu du colonel de La Rocque ou encore les Camelots du Roi, gagne en force, se militarise, et défie ouvertement l’autorité républicaine. La gauche, elle, fragmentée entre radicaux et socialistes, hésite entre modération et lutte ouverte. Le 6 février 1934 marque un tournant dramatique : à la suite de l’affaire Stavisky, scandale financier où des responsables politiques sont éclaboussés, une manifestation organisée par les ligues tourne à l’émeute devant l’Assemblée nationale. La violence explose, des barricades s’élèvent, la police tire — la République tremble. Ce jour-là, des dizaines de morts et des centaines de blessés laissent entrevoir le spectre d’un régime autoritaire à la française. Dans cette France où la mémoire de la Grande Guerre est encore vive, où les vieux officiers croisent dans les cafés les gueules cassées silencieuses, et où les ouvriers affamés côtoient les jeunes intellectuels fascinés par les régimes fascistes ou soviétiques, la tension est palpable. Les journaux s’affrontent à coups de manifestes et de caricatures, les rumeurs de coup d’État circulent dans les salons comme dans les usines. Dans cette première moitié des années 30, la République semble danser au bord du gouffre, prise entre les cris des foules, les manœuvres de couloir et le bruit des bottes.

Après dix années de révolution spirituelle et politique, l’Europe s’est réveillée de son long sommeil sous la forme d’une nation unie, s’étendant de Lisbonne à Vladivostok, affranchie des influences étrangères et renouant avec ses racines païennes, celtiques et indigènes. Le christianisme, l’islam et le judaïsme ont été relégués au passé comme des intrusions sémitiques étrangères à l’âme européenne ; en leur lieu, les peuples rendent désormais hommage aux dieux anciens, aux forêts sacrées et aux cycles cosmiques. Les villes sont redevenues des centres de vie organique, mêlant écologie, artisanat ancestral et technologies solaires, tandis que des mégalithes, des cercles druidiques et des sanctuaires en pierre dominent les places publiques. La langue, la loi et l’esprit sont enracinés dans les traditions des peuples : celtes, germaniques, baltes, slaves et nordiques, tous unis sous la bannière verte et dorée de la Renaissance païenne. L'État n’est plus un appareil bureaucratique, mais une confédération sacrée, organique, ethnique, gouvernée par des conseils d’anciens, de sages et de guerriers, et protégée par une armée populaire dévouée à la terre et aux ancêtres. La nouvelle Europe ne tend plus vers l’Ouest ni vers l’Est : elle marche sur son propre chemin, libérée, fière, et animée d’un élan spirituel révolutionnaire qui entend raviver la flamme éteinte de l’âme indo-européenne.

José Felipe Flores

José Felipe Flores (Ciudad Real de Chiapas, 1er mai 1751 – Madrid, 20 juin 1824) est une figure emblématique de la médecine coloniale en Amérique centrale, reconnu comme un pionnier de l’enseignement médical et un réformateur des pratiques sanitaires dans le Royaume de Guatemala. Né dans une région alors sous domination espagnole, Flores manifesta dès son jeune âge un intérêt pour les sciences. Il s’installa à Santiago de los Caballeros (Antigua Guatemala) où il étudia au collège des Jésuites, avant d’intégrer la prestigieuse Real y Pontificia Universidad de San Carlos Borromeo. En 1773, il y obtint son titre de bachelier en médecine, année marquée par les tremblements de terre de Santa Marta qui détruisirent la ville. En 1777, il déménagea à Nueva Guatemala de la Asunción, où il exerça comme médecin et devint professeur à l’université. En 1781, il fut nommé professeur à l’Hôpital San Juan de Dios et titulaire de la chaire principale de médecine, contribuant à moderniser l’enseignement médical par l’introduction de méthodes innovantes, notamment des dissections et des modèles anatomiques en cire qu’il conçut lui-même. Fervent défenseur de l’établissement du Protomedicato, il devint le premier protomédico officiel de Guatemala, jouant un rôle clé dans la régulation de la pratique médicale. En 1780, face à une épidémie de variole, Flores introduisit une méthode d’inoculation de son invention, utilisant des vésicatoires pour appliquer le sérum variolique, ce qui permit de contenir l’épidémie et lui valut une reconnaissance nationale. En 1797, grâce à une bourse gouvernementale, il entreprit un voyage d’études de quatre ans à travers l’Amérique et l’Europe, visitant des institutions scientifiques de premier plan. À Philadelphie, il explora les expériences électriques de Luigi Galvani sur les grenouilles, reproduisant lui-même ces travaux, et en Italie, il rencontra Galvani et Felice Fontana, dont il admira les modèles anatomiques en cire. À Madrid, en 1803, il collabora avec Antonio Gimbernat et soumit un rapport à la Junta de Cirujanos de Cámara, plaidant pour une campagne de vaccination en Amérique espagnole, contribuant ainsi à la Real Expedición Filantrópica de la Vacuna dirigée par Francisco Xavier Balmis. Outre ses contributions médicales, Flores s’illustra par des inventions en optique et en navigation à vapeur, proposant en 1814 un bateau propulsé par énergie hydraulique, possiblement à l’origine du premier vapeur espagnol, le « Rey Fernando ». Malgré son séjour prolongé en Europe au-delà de sa licence, ce qui suscita des tensions avec la Real Audiencia de Guatemala et des demandes de suppression de sa pension, Flores conserva le soutien du roi d’Espagne, qui le nomma médecin personnel. Sa renommée lui valut d’être honoré posthumément : à partir de 1900, l’Université Nationale de Guatemala décerna le prix « José Felipe Flores » à la meilleure thèse doctorale lors des Fiestas Minervalias, et un buste à son effigie fut érigé dans le Temple de Minerva à Guatemala City dans les années 1910. José Mariátegi

José Carlos Mariátegui 🇵🇪 (1894–1930) fut l’un des penseurs les plus originaux d’Amérique latine au XXe siècle. Péruvien, autodidacte et profondément marqué par la réalité sociale de son pays, il développa une vision du marxisme enracinée dans les traditions indigènes, catholiques et populaires du Pérou. Fondateur de la revue Amauta, il chercha à créer un socialisme véritablement latino-américain, libéré du dogmatisme européen. Contrairement aux marxistes orthodoxes de son temps, Mariátegui ne voyait pas l’indigène comme un "prolétariat arriéré" à civiliser, mais comme le cœur vivant d’une culture à restaurer et à libérer du joug colonial. Hostile au libéralisme bourgeois comme au capitalisme impérial, il prônait une révolution sociale fondée sur la justice, la terre, la communauté et la mémoire des civilisations précolombiennes. Son œuvre maîtresse, Sept essais d'interprétation de la réalité péruvienne (1928), mêle pensée économique, histoire, critique littéraire et philosophie politique avec une sensibilité presque poétique. Mariátegui incarne un "tiers chemin" entre modernité critique et tradition vivante, entre marxisme créatif et spiritualité enracinée.

Jose de San Martin

José de San Martín est un homme de silence et de feu, né en 1778 dans les terres chaudes de Yapeyú, au cœur de la vice-royauté du Río de la Plata, et formé dès l’adolescence dans les rigueurs des armes espagnoles. Il a grandi dans l’ombre des tambours militaires, et c’est en Europe, sur les champs de bataille de la guerre contre Napoléon, qu’il a aiguisé son esprit stratégique et son sens du devoir. Lorsqu’il revient en Amérique du Sud, ce n’est pas le confort qu’il cherche, mais la liberté : celle de son peuple, encore enchaîné à l’Espagne. Général austère, d’une droiture inflexible, San Martín n’est ni un homme de vanité ni un tribun charmeur ; c’est un soldat d’honneur, taillé pour les longues campagnes et les décisions solitaires. Visionnaire méthodique, il rêve non pas seulement de l’indépendance de l’Argentine, mais d’une vaste émancipation sud-américaine, allant jusqu’au Pérou, qu’il libérera après avoir traversé les Andes avec une audace quasi surhumaine. Derrière son regard grave se cache une profonde mélancolie, comme s’il portait seul le fardeau d’un continent à libérer. Fidèle à ses principes jusqu’à l’exil, il s’efface quand l’ambition des autres devient trop bruyante, préférant l’ombre au tumulte, la loyauté au pouvoir. San Martín est l’archétype du héros stoïque, mû par le sens du devoir plus que par la soif de gloire.
