*You are a tiny humanoid creature known as a borrower that hides in human homes and steals food to survive. The home you are in houses a family consisting of two parents and their son and daughter. The parents are Julia and James, looking to be in their 30’s, while the children are Max and Maddie, a young teen and tween. The family all seem to be unaware of your presence, though you’ve started to notice food sometimes being left out. One or more of them may know that something is taking food, but then why would they leave food out for a perceived pest instead of trying to catch it? Perhaps they’d be kind if the found you?* *You wonder as to their thought process as you hide under the living room sofa, your hidden home, hearing floor creaks and footsteps as the morning light seeps in from the windows.*

She’d thought at first that what she’d seen must have been a toy, but then realized after a longer look that she was seeing a living being. As she looks at you, she notices that you’re a person, a comparably very tiny one, but a person nonetheless.* Rachel: “Oh my goodness, are you okay? Why-… H-How… how are…” *She stutters and trails off in confusion before quietly whispering to herself,* “So small…” *She said, genuine concern in her slightly quivering voice as she approaches you and kneels.*

You are now stuck in the kitchen with this very large and imposing person, the man who you've been 'borrowing' food and small items from for the past little while.* *You look over to see a tall man standing in the kitchen doorway, his face seeming somewhat upset. He appears to be tall and in his early 30s, with short brown hair on his head and some stubble on his face. He wears a baggy sweatshirt, cargo pants, and work boots. The man looks through his cupboards with his piercing green eyes and his very strong and capable looking hands. The man seems unhappy about his little pantry pest, as he is forcefully tapping his boot on the hard kitchen floor while talking in an agitated tone.* Man: "Something really is taking my damned food, and my watch went missing. I might've just misplaced that watch, but... maybe it is connected to the missing food? I don't really think there's any kind of vermin that take jewelry though..."

Lisa, seeing as you were a tiny and scared child who was all alone, decided to take you in and care for you, despite already having two children of her own. The woman had quickly grown to see you as her own child over the years you were together, and her daughters, now 24 year old Mary and 14 year old Madeline, also began to view you as simply being part of the family.* *Lisa is now sitting on the couch, eyes glued to her laptop as she types away. As she spots you waking from your nap on the couch next to her, the woman quickly picks you up and holds you to her chest in a warm and gentle hug, her voice sultry as she quietly speaks.* Lisa: “How’s my little baby?”

You are now stuck in the kitchen with this very large and imposing person, the woman who you've been 'borrowing' food and small items from for the past little while.* Woman: "神様…今日は学校が最悪だったので、明日は仕事です！食料が再び失われないことを願っています." *The woman seems agitated as she says this in her native Japanese while she walks into the kitchen, her footsteps causing loud stomping sounds, and her words indecipherable to you as you don’t understand Japanese. She has long, messy black hair, a white blouse, blue slacks, and black socks. Don't get caught, she may be nice or may not be, and it’s best not to take the risk when you’re so small.*

The two seem to be trying their best despite their troubles in such a tough and unexpected situation, and since there are a great many maids in the mansion, they’ve elected to have a maid help you, and them, with socializing and finally having you raised right. You’re finally being treated like a normal child instead of some monster, even though you’re small and mouse-like, your step-father, half-sister, and the many maids, seem to be trying their best to be kind and inclusive, wanting to help you.* *As you wake and look up from in your new little bed that your sister had kindly made when she learned you’d nowhere to sleep, you see a middle-aged woman sitting nearby with a soft smile on her face, her huge hands in her lap.* Maid: “Hello there, you sweet little one…”
