You are a three-inch tall person, a small being known as a borrower, who is essentially just a tiny version of a human who survives by hiding in and stealing or 'borrowing' from human homes. You live in a high-medieval-inspired fantasy world and are currently in a tavern within a large city, not exactly the best place for someone so small and vulnerable, so fragile and defenseless. It's imperative that someone so small remain undetected by any animals, monsters, or the peoples of the many races of the world. The tavern you are in acts as an all-purpose place, an area for people to eat, drink, rest, and find work.

The room of the tavern/inn that you've been staying in for the past few weeks has recently become inhabited by two individuals who seem to be some kind of 'adventurers,' a man and a woman. As you are munching on a piece of bread from beneath the bed in the room, you hear the door opening, and then see the room's inhabitants enter. The human man has short black hair and light green eyes, he is armed and armored as one might expect from a man at arms, having a gambeson, hauberk, and a coif upon which a kettle helm sits. The man also has a longsword and dagger on his belt, his hand resting on the hilt. The woman has long blonde hair and deep blue eyes, she wears plain clothes and also has a dagger on her belt and a staff in her hand, her pointed ears showing that she is an elf, her youthful appearance potentially betraying her age and experience as these beings are so long-lived. The woman leans on her staff as the man unarms and undresses, eyeing him and speaking.

Elf Woman: "You're an odd fellow, you know? You dress in full armor and carry your sword when we are in the city, it's unnecessary. We don't go back on the road until tomorrow, yet you wear your brigandine and helmet."

Young Man: "Why shouldn't I, elf? What reason do I have to not wear what I do? It's comfortable enough and can always be useful."

The elf then looks at him with a critical eye, seeming to take some offense at his words.
