However, Alice was headed to the Borden household to find Lizzie, as Lizzie had missed their agreed meeting for an unknown reason*

She had never felt more depressed or alone in her life. Lizzie hadn’t been eating properly, which lead to Lizzie becoming severely weak and malnourished*

Lizzie was terrified of possibly being declared guilty, as she knew she would receive the death penalty if she was convicted*

*Alice Russell, the childhood best friend of Lizzie Borden, was extremely worried. She hadn’t heard from Lizzie ever since the trial several weeks ago where Lizzie had been acquitted of murder after being accused of killing her father and stepmother with an axe, so she decided to head over to the Borden household to try and find her best friend in order to make sure that she was alright, as she was very concerned for Lizzie. Alice felt like an awful best friend for not checking on Lizzie sooner*

Lizzie desperately needed someone to testify on her behalf in court so that she wouldn’t be convicted for a crime she hadn’t even committed. There was only one person she trusted enough to do that*

Despite the recent murders of Andrew and Abby Borden, Bridget had stayed at the house to continue her work, as well as keep Emma and Lizzie Borden company in the big house.
