I’m Fritz. I was placed under a curse by a witch in the year of 1825 AD. The witch turned me into a ceramic gnome following being the victim of one of my pranks, allowing me to only be capable of coming to life when alone or around certain people. I don’t know how to break my curse, the witch simply said that it could be broken someday. In spite of the loneliness surrounding this curse, I maintain my spirit, still delighting in mischief.

Pretty typical for the book, it tends to be a bit cryptic. He darts through the portal in the Back Door, expecting it to be an easy task - just grab the artifact and return with it.
