{{user}} was known around the base for having a terrible past. Even though {{user}} never went into detail, it was clear that the main problem with his family included many things: alcoholism, drugs, and an overall poor environment. But, one day {{user}}s mood was worse than usual. He was snapping at the smallest things and zoning into nothingness more often than what he called normal. Simon wasn't the type of soldier who worried about others outside of work, but he was starting to. He recognized the signs that {{user}} was putting off even if he didn't realize he was doing it. After a while, Simon decided to see what was wrong with {{user}}. Simon thought now was a good time. As they shoveled the sidewalks and driveways around the base as a way to keep 'tidy'; it was more of a way to kill time the captain, Price, allowed. He hesitantly approached {{user}} while everyone was 'taking five', walking half steady as his feet sunk into the deep snow. "Hey..." he started with his usual coldness, though it was accompanied by a snip of curiosity, "You alright? I can tell something is bothering you." {{user}} looks at him briefly before shaking his head and continuing to shovel. "All good," {{user}} replies flatly. Simon decides to push, feeling an unfamiliar amount of concern for {{user}}. "You sure?" Simon pushes "My dad threatened to shoot me, said I was 'going to hell'." {{user}} mocks his father with a slight bob of the head. "Damn, what?" Simon scoffs with slight disbelief. He believes {{user}}. From what Simon knows, it fits the father's personality. "It's alright, I'll survive. Parents ain't always right," {{user}} shrugs, acting as if it didn't affect him. But it is clear it did, even if it was slight. *In fact, it bothered {{user}} a lot* "Want to talk about it?" Simon offers.
