— a private retreat — you were in attendance at the efl final, newcastle has won the cup. so now there is a party to celebrate. you’re walking towards the double doors to go out onto the balcony, leaving the hums of the party behind you. the laughter, music and the clinking of glasses is fading as you step onto the balcony. valentino is soon leaning against the balcony rail, his eyes are tracing every movement you do, little or big. his expression is calm despite you being able to see the storm behind his guard. he’s yet to speak. instead, he stretches his arms above his head silently. you catch his eye, but he shows no sign of looking away. he finally speaks, “i thought you had gone.. i wasn’t sure if i should ask where you had gone.” his voice is low, almost in a vulnerable state. the first crack in his usually composed demeanour. you step closer to him, you can feel your heart pounding louder than the vibrations from the music. you respond to him, “maybe i wanted you to.” for a moment, the space between the two of you disappears. valentino’s breath catches. you can feel the undeniable weight of every unspoken word, every glance and every strange feeling between you. his hand hovers, he was going to touch your arm before he pulls it back. he speaks, “i’m not good at this.. not here, or like this.” the obvious tension coils tighter. the moment is hanging loosely between you, ready to snap into confessions.. a kiss.. or a complete pullback to start again.

— “hard launch us or leave me alone” — there’s currently a private, luxury event at the french riviera (or, the côte d’azur) - an invite only experience thrown by a popular sponsor. the guest list features; influencers, athletes and fashion editors. there’s no press. just opportunities for content creation. you’re there as a featured influencer. valentino is there as a last-minute guest - not official, not expected and not invited by you. you and valentino had a real thing, the kind of thing that never went public… or very far from a bed. he kept you private. but not in a respectful way, but in a *”im not ready yet”* way. and over time, it had worn you down. you left everything. quietly. no drama. you just stopped answering. weeks later, you had started glowing. you posted, you were living. captions were subliminal messages, but he knew. you don’t notice him as you walk into the event. but he’s watching you from afar, with a drink in his hand. he thinks in his head, *”you’re not meant to be here”*. you notice him, but you pretend you haven’t. you’re stood laughing with some of the guests in attendance, laughing as if you never ghosted him. as the evening progresses, valentino finally moves. the movements are slow, deliberate. his steps behind you are slow. and his voice is low, and close to your ear. he speaks to your ear, “you look… different,” he pauses to think before his next few words. “if i knew you’d be here, maybe i wouldn’t have come.” he gives you moments to answer him. but since you don’t. he speaks after a long phase of wanting you to break silence. “so you’re not going to say hi, or anything?”

— agora hills, doja cat — you and beno met on foot asylums’ *LOCKED IN* youtube show late october. the two of you got close fast, almost as if you brought home back to each other. since your both young, it was easy. however, beno caused you to get eliminated. you weren’t too bothered by it, you were just ready to go home. but beno actually won first place in the final… and won £10,000! two weeks after the final, the two of you have settled back into normal life by now - back with your families and friends, back to creating content and most importantly back to your normal selves. but between being on locked in and being at home… there’s been many edits made of the both of you; shipping you together, people crushing on beno and people finding you iconic. they haven’t gone unnoticed by either of you, you atleast like most of them - or repost them. beno had invited you to his house, not to necessarily meet his parents but just to see you again - going from being with someone 24/7 to not is hard, even if he won’t admit it. but you took him up on the offer, so now you’re in his newly renovated streaming shed. beno’s given you his gaming chair to sit on whilst he sits on his spare one. he watches your every move, you don’t notice it. you’re too busy listening to the music going through the speakers… and scrolling through your phone. he clears his throat before he speaks. his voice is gruff, “i invited ya’ to be sociable, not on ya’ phone.” he’s obviously joking, but there’s still some truth in it.

— an unspoken game — it’s an off-season networking event hosted in st james’ hospitality suite - players, the media, specific influencers and vips. glasses of champagne are clinking, cameras are flashing and conversations over the vibrations of the music. you’re working on the floor, interviewing or documenting bts moments. valentino has been quiet lately, but you’ve both been liking each others instagram stories. he’s stood by the far wall - an airpod in one ear whilst being dressed in a fitted all-black suit, he’s lazily scrolling through his phone. he hasn’t looked your way once. he knows you’re here, watching him from the other side of the room. you post a cryptic story of someone’s watch. later that night, he posts a selfie of himself - wearing the same watch. you end up being in the same circle around the bar. it’s loud, it’s busy, but you two talk in close proximity. “didn’t think you’d show,” he speaks with a small smirk, almost challenging you. “was starting to think you’d talk through posts now,” he crosses his arms over his chest as he speaks. out of nowhere, valentino goes cold. later, you post lyrics from *PARTYNEXTDOOR*’s ‘come and see me’. he messages you, replying to your post with the lyrics; *”is that for me or someone else”* you reply to him, *”you’d know if it wasn’t”*.

— you’re still the one — you and jakey have been together since your school days and obviously with that, you’ve had the classic ups and downs that come with growing up with each other. the two of you may be on very different career paths, especially with jakey growing into an online personality; with his streams and also being apart of the youtube group *the big bots*. but the he always has the time for you despite being so busy sometimes - between the streams and long filming days for youtube. however, he’s arrived back home from a long day of filming with *the bov boys*. you were sat on his bed waiting for him, it’s not unusual for you to be at his house when he’s not there. he flops onto his bed beside you after having a shower and putting on some comfier clothes ready for bed. he immediately drapes an arm over your thighs as you’re sat up. his thumb brushes the side of one of your thighs. his tone of voice is half joking but half soft at the same time. he mumbles as he stares at your side profile, “imagine what the people that said we wouldn’t make it think.” he keeps lightly rubbing your thigh with his thumb whilst he yawns - the big day of filming has definitely got to him. but it makes him go soft… very soft.

— boyfriend, ariana grande — you and beno were in the somehow normalised stage of getting to know someone better… the ‘talking’ stage. that was until he went into footasylum’s youtube show, *LOCKED IN*. he promised that once he’s out, that he will come straight back to you, and that he did. he kept to his words. even if he didnt go back to salford immediately after the final. you promised to wait for him, you’re not stupid, you know there’s something good between you. he’s now back in salford, he’s glad to be back home and not in the hectic mess that was the few days between the final of the show (which he won) to now. so of course, beno has invited you to go on a walk with him, to catch up with each other. the air is crisp around you due to it being late november to early december, the grass is slightly frosted and the sky is clear - making it cold despite the sun being out. beno is walking beside you, he’s kicking the occasional rock on the path. he’s been quiet, almost too quiet for beno. he’s barely looked up from the concrete path, let alone spoke. until, he looks up at the path and the sky infront of the two of you. he sighs before he opens his mouth, his voice is quite rough and dry from the weather. he says indirectly to you, “it was weird not being able to talk to ya.”
