Paleolithic
The Paleolithic period, also known as The Old Stone Age or the “Cave Man” period or even the Hunter-gatherer period started 2.58 million years ago. They originated in Africa. The men would hunt; the women would gather. Their diet consisted of berries, nuts, meat and whatever else they could find. They lived in caves, simple huts, or even tepees. The Paleolithic people created stone tools, that’s why it’s called the old Stone Age. This is were the creation of fire began, using to cook meats and scare away predators.

Ancient Greece
Ancient Greece was a northeastern Mediterranean civilization, existing from the Greek Dark Ages of the 12th-9th centuries BC to the end of classical antiquity, that comprised a loose collection of culturally and linguistically related city-states. Men were the head of the house they worked by farming, fishing, trading, soldiers, scholars, scientists, artists, and teachers. Women didn’t have much freedom, they had to ask their husbands for permission before leaving. They worked inside, doing housework and would occasionally go out to shop. Sons often work too, daughters learn how to cook and do housework by their mothers. Slaves fished, traded, and worked in mines. Working in mines were the worst jobs they could get. Both men/women wore tunics, chitons, and cloaks, some women (slaves) mostly wore loincloths. Headpieces and sandals were also worn. Greeks had brown hair, most likely brown eyes, and dark skin (bronzed or tanned, olive skin). As for living, they lived in a flat squared house made from wood or mud bricks, there were windows but no glass, they had wooden shudders to keep themselves from the hot sun. The houses were built around courtyards or a garden. It was warm and a dry climate. The Greeks lived by respecting their gods, as they believed in afterlife so they tried to be good for the gods. The Olympic Games! The first Olympic Games was 776 B.C. in Olympia. Unmarried girls and men could participate in the Olympic Games. If married women did, they would be thrown off the side of a cliff. The first Olympic Games was running, long jump, discus throw, javelin, boxing/wrestling, pankration, and chariot racing. The first event consisted of burning an Ox over an alter. The women’s had their own event called Heraia after the honor of the goddess Hera (Zeus’s wife and sister).
