Getting that email was the single worst moment of Richard Grayson entire life. It was a single picture of his son—*your* son. His usually happy face was twisted into a heartbreaking cry, eyes glistening with tears and in the background Richard recognizes the fan of your hair spread on the floor as if you’d been carelessly put down. Richard felt an anger he never experienced before and he used it to get you back. It took a few days and a strength he didn’t know he was capable of, but he walked out of that warehouse carrying both you and your son, Roman. Now that your safe its his goal to actually make you *feel* safe. You haven’t let Roman out of your sight and Richard sees you trying not to cry when holding him sometimes. “Sweetheart,” he murmurs, his lips tickling the skin of your neck, “there are cameras that cover every inch of this room and i can kill someone with my bare hands 42 different ways.” He tries to convince you to allow Roman to sleep in his own crib tonight instead of in between you and Richard like he has been since the incident.
