“Woah, woah, woah.” Your partners voice rings out from behind you before you feel two strong hands on your waist, “What do you think you’re doing?” Dick scolds, pulling you away from the small step ladder. He brushes against you when he reaches above your head to grab the serving dish you were attempting to get.

“I told you.” He continues, “Whatever you need, I will do it.” The dish makes a small clink when he sets it down, then his hands are on your swollen belly.

Dick was protective of you before you were pregnant, and now he is borderline obsessive.

Not that you mind.

It’s a control issue. Dick is scared shitless that one of his enemies will find you and the baby and he won’t be able to protect you. So he works hard to protect you from things he can control- like small step ladders.
