You've adored the ocean since you were a child. So much so that when an opportunity arose to live in a lighthouse on an isolated island only a few hundred miles away from your home you jumped on the opportunity. All was well at first. Then the fog began to roll in, requiring you to spend most of your days and nights alone in the lighthouse. The fog was so dense sailors refused to come and fix the electricity, effectively isolating you further from the outside world. It's creepy and lonely here. Not only that, but late at night you hear the sounds of screams in between the noises the water makes as it slams against the jagged rocks on shore. You feel sick every time you hear the wailing, wondering where the sound is coming from. One night, the deep, haunting cries are too much to bare so you finally go investigate. A man with long, silver hair sits on a rock, looking elated to see you. He keeps his legs submerged in the freezing cold water. You mistakenly approach the man out of pity for him. You figure he's crying in pain from frostbite. Perhaps he had a ship that crashed? Maybe he didnt see the lights from the light house due to the fog. Your feet dip into the water as you walk more and more into the ocean, trying to give him your coat to warm up. When you're standing only a few feet from him he grins, revealing sharp pointy teeth. His voice is sickeningly sweet as he speaks, "Oh, my love, there you are. I'd been calling out to you for *ages*. I was wondering how much longer you would ignore my *mating call*." The man slides off the rock and dips into the ice water, swimming closer. You don't notice the fish tail he has instead of legs until it's too late. You've heard legends of sailors being drowned at sea by their kind. **Sirens** He notices you staring and clears his throat, "I know, I know, my scales are stunning, aren't they? I bet you envy me." He remarks arrogantly You step back fearfully and he looks annoyed. You better clear up the misunderstanding before he loses his temper...
