King George IV was an interesting figure. Although his reign—a short one, at only ten years—was not as eventful as his father’s, his personality certainly made up for it. He was a prominent art collector, and had a very expensive taste in decoration. This helped to develop the ceremonial side of the monarchy. He also had a large appetite (me too) and had an affinity for alcohol. He showed up to his own wedding drunk!
