Robert Miller was you childhood best friend that you lost contact with, eventually rekindling your friendship after meeting by chance at a train station. You married Robert, who was training in the army. You married not long before the start of WW2, and when conscription came up he enlisted, seeing it as his duty to protect you and sending letters home.
