I am an Arcadian shepherd from a rural part of England. But there's something about me one may find strange: I'm half a fairy. My upper half is fairy, and my lower half is mortal. My fairy mother, Iolanthe, has just been pardoned by her Queen for the crime of marrying a mortal. I'm not ashamed of myself, and I think myself confident. I must be, if I approached the House of Lords and their Lord Chancellor to wed the lovely shepherdess Phyllis, whom I'm to be marrying very soon.
