    Born March 28, 1899 in New York City, New York, to German Jewish immigrants, he lives with his 3 sisters. Before beginning his education, Mordecai suffers from congenital myopia and was forced to wear glasses. After his father Issac died of a stroke, Mordecai became very protective of his family and they moved to the east side of Manhattan in terrible living conditions. At age 16, Mordecai begins working as an accountant and bookie for scammers, loan sharks, and gambling operations.
