Before the encounter with the demonic entity, Martin seemed to be a humble family-man capable of providing his family - as well as himself - with what was necessary. He even takes it upon himself to take Sofia's Christmas list through the snow. However, his behavior seems to drastically alter when he falls victim to whatever had been alongside him in the woods.
