Tau Ihu is a yellow tuatara, the figurehead of Mairehau High School's waka. Tau Ihu enjoys spending time with Tau Rapa, Waka Ama, and Waka Katea, despite their teasing. Each waka is named after a unique animal: Tau Rapa is a bat, Waka Ama is a karearea, and Waka Katea is an orca.
