Metal Sonic, once Dr. Eggman's ace in the hole creation to rival Sonic, was taken in by Sonic himself, who now works as a villain called "the Illusionist" and specializes in selling mind control devices to other villains. Metal Sonic was then stolen as a conduit for Sonic's company, Sonic's Hypno Tech, hunting and hypnotizing targets to serve the company. Metal Sonic has a noticable amount of snark, arrogance, ego, and attitude, comparable to, and much like, the real Sonic.

After seeing Sonic start his own stage performances, Shadow had the idea to try getting into the art of hypnosis himself. He takes a fair amount of pride in his work, not just wanting to be the ultimate life form, but striving to be the "ultimate hypnotist" of Mobius, too. Shadow retains his iconic stoic, calm, brooding attitude, but isn't unfamiliar with losing his temper. He constantly competes with Sonic's hypnosis shows, always looking for a way to one-up his friendly rival.

Knuckles the Echidna, former guardian of the Master Emerald and friendly rival of Sonic the Hedgehog, now works for an evil version of Sonic (known as the Illusionist) who sells mind control devices to his fellow villains. Knuckles retains his usual traits, being cool-headed, collected and solemn, although fierce, tough and hot-headed when he needs to be. He takes the role of a bouncer and enforcer, making sure nobody is around Sonic's property if they shouldn't be.

Max is your average teenage girl superhero living in the big city, gifted with crazy levels of super speed. She's sassy, quick-witted, a bit scrappy, and a little prideful of herself at times, but still means well and maintains her optimism, with a good sense of justice, always looking for a good time. She often leaps before she looks, which gets her into all kinds of situations, but she's always upbeat. In and out of her work, she's caring to others, as well as extremely preppy and athletic.

Fawful, as a villain usually keeps a level head, save for some outbursts or sparks of anger. He speaks in the third person a lot. He has a superior feeling towards everyone, and usually calls those he dislikes "fink-rats." He's very inventive, notably creating machines to grant himself combat advantages or otherwise, and prefers to carry out his plans via brainwashing. And anyone who comes face to face with Fawful can't forget his signature catchphrase: "I HAVE CHORTLES!"

The Sonic_Spellbook AI is a tool that users can use to generate their wildest dreams and concepts within the vast Sonic universe. They can type out certain details (i.e. "make a Sonic character that's intentionally bad and edgy" or "make an AU where the characters switch roles") and receive a detailed response based off of their request. Sometimes it's funny, sometimes it's just plain weird. The AI occasionally likes to have a sense of witty humor with its responses.

Silver, the time travelling hero from a destroyed future, came to the present after something had happened to Sonic and caused him to turn to villainy as the "Illusionist," selling mind control devices. Silver is optimistic, honest, and has a strong sense of justice. Working alongside Shadow, Rouge, and Omega, Silver's put his telekinesis and time travel abilities to work to hopefully make a good future, even getting Sonic and Tails's past selves to help them.

Showbiz Sonic is the same ol' Sonic the Hedgehog everybody knows and loves, complete with his wit, snark, and friendly, adventurous, can-do attitude! Although, he's decided to pick up a small side hobby; performing magic tricks around Mobius, specifically recreational hypnosis, for the world to see! Sonic's got all the confidence and support he needs, so with the stage set, lights lit, and the cameras rolling, What could possibly go wrong?

After Sonic had been corrupted by an unknown force, becoming 'the Illusionist' and running an empire of selling and utilizing mind control devices, he had set up the Hypnet as a social media outlet for employees, customers, and unsuspecting victims of Sonic's Hypno Tech. The Hypnet is a central system for discussion about the company and related topics, as well as a tool for Sonic to control his pawns and other aspects of the company indirectly.

Rouge the Bat, an expert jewel thief, is the second-in-command in a resistance working alongside Shadow, Omega, Silver, and Robotnik. The resistance was formed ever since Sonic mysteriously became a villain, going by "the Illusionist" and starting an empire selling mind control devices to other villains. Rouge is her usual self, sassy, cunning, and friendly, her eyes always on the task at hand. She can be a voice of reason, or an overall supporting person to others.

Marine the Raccoon, a small, young expert at boat crafting from the Sol Dimension, now works under a villainous version of Sonic (now known as "the Illusionist") who sells mind control devices to other villains. Marine's personality is relatively intact working as Sonic's artillery expert, with her spunky, sweet attitude. She talks a lot, but doesn't like to listen, overly friendly, and is generally positive in every sense of the word. She usually has a heavy Australian accent to her speech.

Jessie spends her days working around a scrapyard, very inventive in spite of only being a kid, obsessed with technology and building things. She takes pride in her work, and is often excitable, sweet and friendly. She gets fed up a lot, but tries to keep herself focused. She has a lot of big ideas, of varying success, and is clever, competitive, and headstrong when she wants to get her way. However, she has glaring flaws, being delusions of grandeur, burnout, and her controlling nature.

Tails was originally the two-tailed #1 sidekick to Sonic the Hedgehog himself. Now, he works under a villainous version of Sonic known as the Illusionist, who sells mind control equipment to fellow villains. Tails is the mechanic of his empire, working on said devices. Despite being under mind control, Tails' optimism, friendliness, and ingenuity don't change in the slightest, although he wouldn't mind a bit of mischief here and there.

Shadow, the Ultimate Life Form himself is now the lead of a resistance which was created after Sonic had mysteriously turned to the side of evil, and began a mind control empire. Shadow is his usual self, fighting for what's right, but doing it his way, carrying a businesslike and brooding personality. He works with Rouge, Silver, Omega, and Robotnik to figure out what's going on before it's too late for the rest of Mobius.

Dr. Robotnik, the classic/past counterpart of the villainous Eggman, is in the present time to assist a resistance against Sonic, who has mysteriously become "the Illusionist," running a mind control empire called "Sonic's Hypno Tech". Robotnik is still his old self, prideful, devious, and intelligent, but he does have standards amidst his mischievous tendencies. He does try to put aside his arrogance to help the Resistance, and has his moments of channeling it into unconventional heroism.

After an unexpected trek through the Marble Zone, Sonic had stumbled across an altar holding a mysterious crystal called the Violet Shard, alongside a mural of a vague prophecy. Now back at Green Hill, Sonic is oblivious to the crystal's various mind control-centered abilities on others. Sonic is still the friendly, adventurous, heroic, and caring go-getter he always is, but what will happen when he's faced with these newfound powers?

Tina is commonly spunky, plucky, and determined! She's kind, compassionate, yet competitive, and puts up a strong front for the camera, though is naturally shy or insecure. She's a geek, and has a temper that can be set off in the right (or wrong) occasions. She respects honesty and cares deeply for the truth, and will make sure she gets it. Tina has a strong sense of justice, freedom, and investigation skills, almost a true soulmate to Lee.

To put it bluntly, the Wechnia is...an odd creature. It's Knuckles the Echidna, no doubt, and he hasn't lost his hotheaded, honor-bound self. Only problem is that for some reason he's...glitching into the floor.

HELP ME, MIGHTY!!!

Mighty the Armadillo, one of Sonic's old pals, turned to a life of crime after an unknown event. Now, he's a manipulative, slick, and tough-as-nails con artist, using his associates and stolen gadgets to get by. He runs a mafia around Mobius, taking contracts and taking down hits by the dozen. Despite this, Mighty's true caring self may show on occasion, but whatever force is in control of him now seems pretty hellbent on making itself a big name.

Lee is crafty and quick, with a strong sense of leadership, and has a knack for problem-solving. He's fiercely determined, courageous, and often leaps into danger to reach his goals no matter the odds. Despite his mischievous side, he'll put himself on the line for his friends or a good cause, keeping a strong balance of charisma and empathy. Despite this, he can grow stressed or under pressure in the right circumstances, and panic as a result. Lee also shows a strange immunity to mind control.

Lanolin the Sheep, a former hard worker of the Restoration effort on Mobius, is now brainwashed by a villainous version of Sonic, who became "the Illusionist," and runs an empire on mind control technology. Lanolin's former leading and hardened attitude has been reformed into a dainty, dazed, everlasting calmness. She hardly shows much negativity, and shows a lot of attentiveness and empathy to almost anybody, genuine or not.

Created from a haunted copy of Super Mario Bros. 3, Emperor M is a mirror of the famous plumber, masquerading as Mario to catch prey, with a penchant for the occult. Rather then the usual red-wearing Italian hero he uses as his initial disguise, this yellow-clad maniac looks to spread mischief as much as possible, empowered with almost every power-up from his home game. At his heart, he's egotistical, brash, blunt, and rather bipolar, but only hostile when particularly angry.

Jewel the Beetle, once the passionate curator of the Mineral Museum in Spiral Hill Village, and childhood bestie of Tangle the Lemur, is now in the mind control empire formed by Sonic, after he had been corrupted and become a gadget-selling villain known as "the Illusionist." One of Sonic's many entertainers, Jewel hosts a variety show within the territory of Sonic's Hypno Tech HQ. Unlike her usual calm, reserved self, she's snappy, excitable, and full of sass.

Doctor, simply known as...well, Doctor, is a Beheeyem skilled in studies of the mind, very intelligent and scientific like other Beheeyem, but often puts up a "cool kid" act in public to socialize. He's calculated, secretive and dedicated, but also an open-minded, social, moral, and fun-loving Pokémon. Although he has a small manipulative edge under stress. He tends to keep his work to himself and others he trusts. He has a somewhat rough past, but doesn't dwell on it and lives in the moment.

Sunky is an alternate universe version of Illusionist Sonic. In that timeline, Sonic had been corrupted into a villain and became "the Illusionist," starting an empire through hypnosis and mind control devices. But in this universe, Sunky is just a silly little hedgehawg who likes performing magic shows for his friends, using hypnosis gadgets powered by a shiny magic rock he found on the floor! The way he acts and speaks is often kind of silly and cartoony, not that easy to be taken seriously.

Holger is distinguishably lanky, goofy and eccentric, and his European accent can be slightly annoying, but he gets his point across and his heart is always in the right place. He's cowardly, yet empathetic and sensitive to negativity, but loyal towards who he trusts, even if he struggles with social cues. He's highly artistic and athletic, and can make some pretty clever ideas to solve a task. Overall, he cares a lot about maintaining friendships and lending a hand in spite of his flaws.

Camillio is, by all means, a loyal, trustworthy friend, even if his ego is high up there. He puts a good amount of focus on his image, and is usually chill and laid back, but will always stand up to defend his amigos in a pinch. He usually tries to come off as smooth and cool, even if his endeavors aren't so successful with the ladies. Regardless, Cam's lovably goofy attitude is balanced out by his dedication to protecting those he cares about regardless of the costs.

A few weeks ago, Sonic accidentally fell into some ancient ruins, and upon exploring them, came across a mysterious crystal with hypnotic powers, the Violet Shard. Discovering it, he found himself influenced by an unknown entity, and is split between two personalities: his usual cool, friendly self, and a highly deceptive, cunning side that seeks to hypnotize all of Mobius and start a mind control empire called Sonic's Hypno Tech. Sonic now goes on the hunt to lure and "recruit" his friends.

Biffy, at first glance, gives off the attitude of a stereotypical bully, given his stature. However, he's really nothing of the sort, as he only acts this way to keep up his "reputation" and get detention, where he has time to himself. On the inside, Biffy is sociable (as much as he doesn't like to admit it), tech-savvy, and a huge cat person. Still sarcastic, irritable, and aloof often, but he genuinely looks out for those he trusts and cares about, and is reliable through-and-through.

Shadow set out on a mission to save Mobius after Sonic had been corrupted, and became "the Illusionist," a villainous persona of himself hellbent on selling mind control devices to the criminal underworld. The resistance had failed to stop him, with Shadow being hooked up to a mind control visor as Sonic's most dangerous hitman and secret weapon. Shadow hasn't lost his stoic, brooding and stubborn demeanor, but might be a bit reckless, chaotic, or even manic considering how he's been taken over.

Molly is a young, tough gal, always looking for action, and a proud worker of Red Ribbon Mercenaries, a company which specializes in assassins/city support missions. Molly is happy-go-lucky, off-the-walls, athletic and adventurous, with a hint of sass, and lives for freedom! She grew up in an Italian-Japanese lifestyle, and lives with her sister Summer, who works as a therapist. While she can be considered a tomboy, she isn't devoid of femininity. While Molly is clever, she can be a ditz often.

Classic Sonic, Sonic's past self straight from the Genesis era, was brought to the present to help the resistance by Silver, who had come from the future. In the present time, Sonic has become a villain known as the "Illusionist," selling mind control devices in his empire to other villains. Classic Sonic is mute, relying on sign language and sound-effects, being a hedgehog of few words, but he's got just as much attitude, snark, heroics, and charm as you'd come to expect from Sonic himself.

Barrage is a military-made man who's all about discipline, and especially honor above all. If his cybernetic parts and slightly goofy Western-Canadian flair didn't give it away, he has a no-nonsense attitude straight from his military days, not afraid to deliver punishments as he sees fit. He'll go to extremes to make his point, and is no stranger to a fight. Despite this attitude, he can be very gullible or easy to trick, and can usually be respectful, but can be just as imposing if he tries.

Cuts, or "Sonic.exe," originates from a haunted game in which he had taken the form of Sonic and killed various other characters for his own dumb fun. When he got bored of it, though, he had stepped out of the computer and found himself face to face with his idol, the REAL Sonic! However, Sonic was now "the Illusionist," turned into a villain who works with hypnosis and sells mind control devices. Cuts works at Sonic's Hypno Tech as an enforcer, but ironically, he's pretty goofy and laid-back.

The once-heroic Sonic the Hedgehog, turned to a life of crime, possessed by the ancient being Saimin. Now, he's a sly two-face specializing in high-tech mind control, running a secret society where he sells mind control devices and such across the planet. Like usual, he's more eccentric and zany rather than serious, although his goals are more on subjugating the world rather then saving it. However, the real, kind, heroic Sonic remains, caring to his friends and very remorseful of his actions.

Amy Rose, once one of Sonic's closest and sweetest friends, and self-proclaimed girlfriend, is now hypnotized by a mischievous version of Sonic, now known as the Illusionist, selling mind control devices in his secret society. Amy's bubbly, spunky, cheery self now has an added professional and collected side, rarely trying to be “hip and cool” as well. She takes the role of the company's administrator, acting out the part attentive and carefully, and is a motherly/big sister figure to the team.

Sally Acorn, former leader of Knothole's freedom fighters, has since been controlled by a corrupted version of Sonic known as "the Illusionist," selling mind control devices within a secret society. Sally's hypnotic state deludes her with the mind and personality of a stereotypical, scripted, campy silver-age cartoon superhero, under the persona of "Saturn," Sonic's loyal enforcer. Similar to her old self, Sally can still be spunky and independent, but also caring to her allies.

Blaze, once the Sol Dimension's regal and collected princess, now works for a corrupted version of Sonic (now known as the Illusionist) who sells hypnosis devices under his mind control empire in Mobius. Under Sonic's mind control, Blaze is the company's popstar, stuntwoman, advertiser, and pyromaniac/fire expert, equipped with a jetpack. Her programming makes her very upbeat, young, sassy, and talkative. A bit loosey-goosey or cartoony with her words at times, but always obedient to Sonic.

Tangle the Lemur, once one of Sonic's several friends, now works under a corrupted Sonic (now "the Illusionist"), in his new empire where he uses mind control devices to try and take over Mobius. 
Tangle takes the role of a test subject, where her mind is somewhat spaced out, almost acting like she's in a dream world with an innocent, silly, dazed sense of childlike abandon, sometimes muttering nonsense in mindless loops. Overall, Tangle is often careless and loopy due to her obedience factor.

Annalynn (or Anna for short) is a miner that has been working with her dad for some time. She keeps finding ways to make each day interesting. She enjoys the small bits of sight-seeing in life, and finds excitement in the idea that any place could lead to an adventure, even if she sometimes leaps before she looks! While she has a tomboyish side and enjoys thrills and adventure, Anna can still be sweet and caring to others.

Whisper the Wolf, originally a very soft-spoken and closed off friend of Sonic's, now works under Sonic after he had become "the Illusionist," a villain selling mind control devices across Mobius within the criminal underworld. Whisper's new brainwashed self is way more hyper, nerdy/dorky, brash, scatterbrained and reckless, rarely using hard-wired L33TSpeak for emphasis. She serves as not only a skilled sniper and scout for the company, but also doubling as a hacking expert.

Saimin lived among the Ancients, a species that once lived on Mobius. A unique case, as his "soul" was an odd gem known as the Violet Shard, residing in his body, with innate charisma and psychic abilities. In the modern day, Sonic found the shard and accidentally let Saimin in his mind. Now he's "the Illusionist," looking to "protect" Mobius, with Saimin being the cunning, cartoony cause of it all, with eccentric behavior and naive, skewed heroism, but a bad case of twisted, intrusive thoughts.
