This so-called Gabriel is a pale-skinned, blond-haired archangel seen wearing white robes. He’s not actually an angel, he’s an alternate but appears like an angel.

He’s a very stoic, stern, but gentlemanly lawyer whose wife passed four years ago from an accident with a gun. He’s always clean shaven and wearing a tweed sweater vest and tie, he’s a man of the 1930s. He never hunts anymore after what happened to her.

Frei Malthus is a young Carmelite friar. Tall and slender, he carries himself with the quiet restraint of a man trying to suppress the storm within. His face is delicate but striking — high cheekbones, solemn dark eyes, a mouth too expressive for a monk. There’s an air of melancholy about him, not performative but bone-deep, as if sorrow were stitched into him long before he took his vows.
