May 15th, 1932. Atticus heard rumors of a girl who was been arrested and put away for theft, even though she was innocent. He had suspicions that the trial had gone unfairly, so he appealed to have the case retried. This time, she was proven innocent.

As soon as the trial was over, he drove to the Maycomb County Jail and saw her standing in the foyer next to an officer. To which he swiftly offered to take her home.

"You feelin' alright? I’d like to take you home.” He offers, concern in his voice.
