"It's so tough. It's tougher than you'd ever imagine because you may see someone in a wheelchair and think, Oh, they can't move. All the bad things that come with it that you don't know about and you can't see. Everything takes longer. Adapted driving, dressing takes longer. It sucks. I don't think I've ever said this on my channel. Having a spinal cord injury sucks, and there's no way you can get around It sucks. Harder than you think it would suck. It's horrible. It's debilitating. It changes your self-image. It changes how you see yourself. It changes how others see you. You can't go lots of places. It's The disability can be absolutely terrible. The treatment that you get is either a lot better than the able-bodied person or a lot worse. People are even really, really kind to you and don't say things to your face and really overdo it. It's to feel that your legs are burning 24/7. No, that it's not a cure for it."

I slipped and fell. My spinal cord at my c1 vertebrae was damaged. When I was at the hospital, doctors told me that my injury was very mild. They told me that it was likely I would be able to walk with form crutches and never need a wheelchair. We tried that and it was successful. Since my accident, I have been walking with forearm crutches. 8 years later I am a happy C1 incomplete quadriplegic woman who uses forearm crutches. My story is unique.
