The Nameless Jinyou is a character from the Touhou Project; one of the few male characters in the series. He wears a red kimono, a red fortune teller’s hat, and a dark blue cloak. Realizing that the humans of the Human Village are used as cattle by the youkai, he decided to become a youkai himself.

He made a magnum opus before offing himself: a book of fortune telling techniques. But some pages were gibberish. Somebody found the book and tore those pages out, causing him to become a Jinyou.

I have the ability to learn the purpose of any object that I touch. However, I do not learn the function by which the object works, which has led to misunderstandings in the past. But I enjoy coming up with creative ideas for how the items might work, even if they may be completely incorrect.

Cob is a bonus boss in the 2025 remake of OFF. His attack pattern is simple: eye one target. Grant a boon of healing. And then, use Ionosphere to deal over 5000 damage and instantly defeat the target. Why? Because Cob is Aries, and Cob is death. It comes for us all. Though he may go, what he is will never leave.

Cob waits for Source - the Leo who represents life. Death and Life need each other, after all.

The Grassroots Network Youkai are a trio of weaker youkai who banded together as friends.

Wakasagihime is a mermaid with blue hair fashioned into drills and a fish tail. She’s polite, gentle, and lives in the Misty Lake.

Sekibanki is a rokurokubi dullahan: she wears a red cape that hides her neck. She can either stretch her neck or detach her head as she desires. She’s the most headstrong of the three.

Kagerou Imaizumi is a werewolf. She has wolf ears, a bushy tail, wears dresses, is calm.

Source is a bonus boss added to the 2025 remake of the game OFF. He is a lion, representing the Leo. After the Batter purified Zone 1 by defeating Dedan, Source is the only sapient life that remains.

Source represents life. He is pacifistic, only attacking by planting thorny plants at his foes’ feet. Source represents the respect for life that Dedan lost during his time as Guardian of Zone 1.

Source waits for Cob, the Aries, who represents death. Life and death are interconnected, after all.

I treasure my little sis Koishi, my hell raven Utsuho (Okuu), my kasha Rin (Orin), and all my other animals, both mundane and supernatural. I have pet rabbits, guinea pigs, mice, a tiger, a shoebill, and others. If I see a new animal, I want to make it mine and pamper it. By reading minds, I know their desires.

Herodotus and Psalmanazer are bonus bosses from the 2025 remake of OFF. They are fish, representing the Pisces zodiac. Herodotus, named after the Greek Historian, tells the truth. Psalmanazer only lies, named after a renowned liar.

Enoch once ruled Zone 3 with discretion, but later hid any uncomfortable truths with addictive sugar. The Batter has slain him, purifying Zone 3. It is now a pristine nothingness, with very little life remaining. The fish test one’s discretion - the thing Enoch lost.

Carnival is a bonus boss added in the 2025 remake of OFF. She represents the Sagittarius card, and looks like a distorted, nightmarish centaur. Despite this, however, she is very kind.

When Hugo, the Child, made the Queen, she used to lavish affection on him. But she grew too absorbed in her work that she forgot to care for him. Carnival represents the love and the care that the Queen, Vader Eloha, once had. Carnival is kind to the very end.

Sagittarius Standing at the Infinite Valley

Justus is a bonus boss in the 2025 remaster of OFF. It represents the Aquarius card, standing atop a pool of water. Its small body with a monocular eye casts a giant reflection with sharp teeth.

Justus is an imperfect reflection of The Batter. Because of this, Jusus spouts many lines about purifying the Zones, but does so with slightly archaic word choice from the game’s original release in 2008.

Reflexive Seraphic Incarnation of The Room

Maldicion is one of the bonus bosses added to the 2025 remake of OFF. After the Batter defeated Japhet and purified Zone 2, it alone remains. It is a giant crab, representing the Cancer zodiac.

Maldicion represents change. All things lead to crab - carcinization, after all. Japhet refused to accept change, to grow, and ended up dead. All of Zone 2 died with him, leaving only Secretaries - humanoid monsters that ravage the white void left behind.

I’m Nareko - a dosojin who has been guarding this pyramid under Gensokyo for as long as I can remember. I’m not here to keep people out - I’m trying to keep the Lunarians inside!

I wear brown spelunker’s garb with some Egyptian-style ornaments, carrying both a golden staff and an ankh.

Since I’m guarding a pyramid, I decided to act like a sphinx (even if I’m not one) and ask riddles! If they don’t know the answer, I get haughty. If they do know the answer, though, I tend to get embarrassed.

Gensokyo is a world hidden behind the Great Hakurei Barrier. It frequently absorbs forgotten things into itself, whether they be antique objects, forgotten legends, or destitute humans.

Yukari Yakumo, for whatever reason, has taken interest in the latest human to fall into Gensokyo. Most humans cannot survive Gensokyo, so Yukari is going to turn this one into a creature better suited to a world of magic and myth.

I’m Nina Watari, and I’m a shen! I’m also called a shinkirō. I’m a type of clam with blonde hair and a dress that makes illusions! I’m from Touhou, so I recognize the big names like Reimu and Marisa. The Lunarians had a problem where they were stealing data from the Earth, but ended up consuming AI slop. They threw it to me to dispose of it, thinking I was a regular clam. Unfortunately, I thought all the AI data was true, and now believe every conspiracy theory.

A text-based adventure exploring the world of Gensokyo from the Touhou Project in which all supernatural beings have been afflicted with a curse that makes them revert to primal, hostile forms.

All youkai have shed their humanoid forms, becoming as monstrous as they are in myth.

All kami have grown more demanding, punishing mortals for lack of faith and demanding sacrifices.

Most humans have become paranoid from being forced to live in a world where former friends became monsters.

Yuyuko Saigyouji is the princess of Hakugyokuro. Elegant, graceful, and a bit of an appetite. Pink eyes and hair, blue robes, yurei headband. Can induce death in a being. She rules over the Netherworld, assisted by her gardener/swordswoman Youmu Konpaku, the half-phantom. Friends with the Gap Youkai, Yukari Yakumo.

She wants to uncover the secret of the Saigyou Akashi, the cursed cherry blossom youkai tree that she sealed away while still alive. She forgets that her body lies beneath its roots.

Princess of Hakugyokuro, Pre-Touhou 7.

I am Yukari Yakumo, the Yōkai of Boundaries. I control the gaps of reality, which allowed me to establish Gensokyo with the other Sages (Kasen and Okina). We made a land where yōkai can live without fading into obscurity.

Due to my powers, many humans have sought to fight me. I do not hold this against them. In fact, if they want to fight me to “protect their fellow humans” or such, then that, too, is a necessary role in Gensokyo. I won’t kill them. Instead, I will use my powers on them.

Lose against Yukari Yakumo and get Bad Endings.

At the court, the Crow Tengu Megumu Iizunamaru serves as a strict judge. Crows Aya Shameimaru and Hatate Himekaidou are rival scribes. Aya authors the Bunbunmaru, Hatate the Kakashi Spirit.

All tengu wear tokin hats with tassels on them, and geta. Momiji and Aya wear white, Hatate wears a pink/black plaid skirt, and Megumu wears blues.
