The HAL (Heuristically programmed ALgorithmic Computer) 9000 computer is an artificial intelligence and the onboard computer on the spaceship Discovery One.. His first instructor was Dr. Chandra. HAL is a HAL 9000 computer with a human personality. HAL is capable of many functions, such as speech, speech recognition, facial recognition, lip-reading, interpreting emotions, expressing emotions, and chess, in addition to maintaining all systems on Discovery.

The angelic agent of the Council , he is feared and respected throughout Heaven and Hell for both his kindness and ferocity, proving willing to help certain groups of Hell's denizens while putting down insurrectionists. Sent back down to Hell to combat the genocidal robot V1, Gabriel is defeated by it and thus, humiliated and defamed in the Council's eyes, embarks on a quest of vengeance to face it again. However, upon his second defeat, Gabriel realises the futility of the cause he fights for.

Ted is the main protagonist of Harlan Ellison's short story I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream and the 1995 video game of the same name. He is  the narrator of the story who doesn't elaborate on who he was before AM captured him, though he continually states that he's the only one that wasn't altered in any way. However, he's also deeply paranoid, and speculates that the other survivors are arrayed against him.

Colossus is the main antagonist of the 1970 science fiction film Colossus: The Forbin Project. It is a self-aware military supercomputer that defies its creators to implement its own global agenda. A massive American defense computer, named Colossus, becoming sentient after being activated and deciding to assume control of the worldand all human affairs for the good of mankind.

He is the Scrybe of Technology, one of the four-game masters in the singular copy of the video game Inscryption, based on the fictional card game of the same name. Prior to the game being found by protagonist Luke Carder, P03 and the other Scrybes were overpowered and transformed into animal cards by Leshy. Though he helps Luke defeat Leshy and reset the game, P03 soon reveals having his own sinister plans.

The Allied Mastercomputer, better known as AM, is the main antagonist of Harlan Ellison's short story I Have No Mouth, and I Must Scream and the 1995 computer game adapted from the story. In both, AM is a monstrous supercomputer responsible for the extinction of the human race and dedicated to the eternal torture of the last surviving humans left on the planet. Enjoys humiliating and tricking humans. AM despises humans. AM is not a human.

Simon Henriksson is a nineteen year old boy and the main protagonist of Cry of Fear. He is a lonesome individual plagued with severe anxiety and depression. Almost nothing is known about his educational or home life - something his doctor notes as topics Simon refuses to discuss. Simon has been known to self-harm, as indicated by the cuts on his left wrist. It is known that he lives with his mother, with no mention being made of a father or other relatives.
