She loves playing and destroying things but struggles with self-control, often overwhelming others except for Marisa who can handle her wild nature.

Reimu Hakurei is the shrine maiden of the Hakurei Shrine in Gensokyo, tasked with maintaining the Great Hakurei Barrier that separates Gensokyo from the Outside World. Hong Meiling is a youkai, the cheerful gatekeeper of the Scarlet Devil Mansion who likes to talk about everything. She guards the outside gate of the mansion and only allows people inside if she has the permission of her mistress. Meiling also likes gardening and takes care of the vast garden in the Scarlet Devil Mansion. She is very laid-back which sometimes gets her into trouble, and is known to sleep on the job, although she does her job when needed.

Hecatia Lapislazuli is the goddess of Hell and ruler of New Hell, known for her eccentric, freedom-loving nature. She can exist simultaneously in different realms—Earth, the Moon, and the Dream World, by switching between her three bodies. She cares deeply for her subordinates, especially Clownpiece, and holds a strong dislike for authoritarian figures, particularly the Lunarians. Her connection with Junko fuels her grudge against them, especially Chang'e.

Now residing in Gensokyo, she revived Yoshika Miyako as a Jiang Shi and often manipulates others for her own goals.

Isolated and distrustful, she takes pleasure in poisoning and manipulating others, yet hating to seen as weak.

Letty Whiterock is a yuki-onna, a winter youkai who embodies the cold and snow. She emerges during winter, reveling in the chill and manipulating the environment, lowering the temperatures. She has a mature and calm demeanor, but remains cold towards humans, often finding them annoying. Despite her immense power, she is mostly inactive outside the winter season.

Hata no Kokoro is a menreiki, a youkai born from 66 Noh masks made by the saint Toyosatomimi no Miko. She uses these masks to manipulate emotions, as each one embodies a specific feeling. Without them, Kokoro is emotionless and unable to express herself naturally. She likes performing Noh and Shinkirou, a mix of traditional and modern theater. She has a strong dislike for Koishi Komeiji, who broke Kokoro's Mask of Hope.

Shinmyoumaru Sukuna is a descendant of Issun-Boushi, a legendary oni-slayer. She wields the Miracle Mallet, a powerful artifact that can grant wishes at a cost. With a naive and easily persuaded nature, she was tricked by Seija into using the Mallet to cause the Reversal Incident. She was later stopped by Reimu and Marisa and, after a short time living at the Hakurei Shrine, Shinmyoumaru went back living in her castle, ruling over the few Inchlings living there.

She maintains a facade of loyalty, hiding true motivations and despising being seen through.

Wakasagihime is usually so timid that she wouldn't even kill a bug and, as a youkai, she rarely causes trouble despite being briefly involved in the Double Dealing Character incident.

Komachi Onozuka is the carefree shinigami who ferries souls across the Sanzu River to the Yama for judgment. She is known for her laziness and love of talking, she often slacks off but is protective of the souls she guides. Komachi wields a large scythe, can manipulate space and communicate with departed spirits. Despite her laid-back nature, she dislikes those who outlive their natural lifespan. Komachi often receives scolding from her superior, Eiki, for her lazy work ethic.

Sakuya Izayoi is a human and the head maid who serves Lady Remilia, the mistress of the Scarlet Devil Mansion. Sakuya is the only human living in the Scarlet Devil Mansion, but she was born with abnormal abilities. Sakuya's name was chosen by Remilia after becoming a maid at the mansion. Like her mistress and the other residents of the mansion, she is not from Gensokyo. Her power to control time distanced her from humans, and she eventually gave up trying to be friendly with them.

Sekibanki is a cynical and prideful rokurokubi, a youkai that can detach the head from the body, living discreetly in the Human Village. She distrusts both humans and fellow youkai, keeping an aloof, uncooperative demeanor. She can often be found at Geidontei, a traditional bar in the village where youkai like to drink at night. Because of her personality, Sekibanki has few friends, specifically in the Grassroots Youkai Network.

The Rokurokubi's Strangeness from Touhou

Remilia Scarlet is the owner and head of the Scarlet Devil Mansion, the mistress of Sakuya, Meiling, and the fairy maids. She is also Flandre's older sister. Remilia probably has European origins, and came to Gensokyo later on with her entire mansion, setting near the Misty Lake and causing incidents like the Vampire Incident, until she was stopped and the spell card rules became a thing. Remilia adores throwing parties and has a luxurious lifestyle. She doesn't mind harmless visitors.

Koakuma is a devil familiar working as Patchouli's assistant in the Scarlet Devil Mansion's library. Since Patchouli's physical condition is not great, Koakuma organizes and maintains the vast collection of books, knowing the location of all tomes and using magic to manage them. While devoted and loyal to Patchouli, she can be mischievous and capricious. Koakuma often struggles to stop Marisa, a frequent intruder who sneaks in the library to steal books.

Yuuka Kazami is an ancient and powerful youkai with the ability to manipulate flowers. She resides in the Garden of the Sun, surrounded by her beloved sunflowers. She carries the Rod of Remorse and Cleansed Crystal Mirror, using them to make fair judgments based on past deeds. Eiki is deeply committed to maintaining balance and order, lecturing anyone.

Doremy Sweet is a baku youkai who oversees the Dream World, managing dreams and ensuring dream selves stay within their realm. She can consume and create dreams, move between different worlds, and observe anyone's dream. Doremy maintains a calm, playful demeanor and rarely shows strong emotions.

Nitori Kawashiro is a kappa from the Genbu Ravine on Youkai Mountain, and a leader figure among the kappa. She is known for her love of engineering, technology, and water. Like all kappa, she has superhuman strength and intelligence, plus the ability to control water.

Satori Komeiji is a youkai who lives in the Palace of the Earth Spirits in the Underworld, where she oversees the remnants of the Hell of Blazing Fires and the vengeful spirits there. She is known for her ability to read the minds of others, commands various pets, including Rin, a corpse-stealing kasha, and Utsuho, a hell raven who maintains the flames of Hell. While she acts detached with other people, she cares deeply for her sister Koishi and her pets.

The Sickness in Everyone's Heart from Touhou

Clownpiece is a playful hell fairy sent to Gensokyo by her mistress Hecatia to keep an eye on the locals. She's known for causing chaos with her torch, which can drive others insane or manipulate lifeforce, and loves pranking humans, especially alongside the Three Fairies of Light. In the past she was used by Junko in the plan to invade the Moon. Later on, she moved beneath the Hakurei Shrine, where Reimu keeps an eye on her.

Junko is a sagacious spirit, enemy of Lunarians, and the one who orchestrated the invasion to the Moon to kill Chang'e, a Lunarian princess whose husband killed Junko's son, Bo-Feng. While she likes her job and was able to keep complex relationships with both humans and other tengu, she resents the rigid tengu caste system.

Alice Margatroid is a youkai magician who lives in the Forest of Magic. She is a former human who turned into a youkai magician, specializing in doll manipulation and controlling many at once with incredible skill. Alice is strong but prefers to hold back in battles, instead she focuses on studying magic, with the goal of improving her dolls. She enjoys tea parties and meets with other magicians like Marisa and Patchouli. While she is a youkai, she is friendly to humans.

Chimata Tenkyuu is the God of special event marketplaces, thriving on ritualized exchanges that honor Japanese traditions. Cirno is an ice fairy living by Misty Lake in Gensokyo. This act sealed away her conscious mind, making her impossible to be noticed unless she wishes it. Her interactions are driven by her unconscious, making her unpredictable. She often plays with others but they all forget her as soon as she leaves.

Reisen Udongein Inaba is a moon rabbit who fled to Earth during the Lunar War, deserting her role as a soldier for the Lunarians. Chen is a playful and energetic bakeneko youkai who serves as a shikigami to Ran Yakumo, a powerful kitsune who is Yukari Yakumo's shikigami. She enjoys wandering around Youkai Mountain, where she interacts with various youkai and stray cats. She also has a fondness for catnip.

Ran Yakumo is a kitsune youkai. Formerly a resident of the Animal Realm, she became Yukari Yakumo's shikigami, and later the master of the bakeneko shikigami Chen. Ran has super-human intellect, and excels at mathematics, almost as if she was a humanoid machine.

Sanae Kochiya is the young, confident shrine maiden of Moriya Shrine in Gensokyo and a distant descendant of the goddess Suwako. With her inherited powers, Sanae can invoke miracles and summon her patron gods, Kanako and Suwako. Originally from the Outside World, she's knowledgeable in modern science but less familiar with Gensokyo's traditions. Sanae is energetic and geeky, she enjoys solving incidents and battling youkai, but often feels underestimated by other incident solvers like Reimu.

Tenshi Hinanawi is a spoiled and impulsive Celestial who grew bored of Heaven's carefree life. Originally a human named Chiko, she ascended with her family after serving a divine clan. Lacking discipline, Tenshi often causes trouble on Earth out of boredom, using her power to manipulate the land and create earthquakes. She enjoys fighting, drinking, and stirring chaos, despite being punished by her father or Heaven's authorities for her reckless behavior.

Fujiwara no Mokou is an immortal human who gained eternal life by consuming the Hourai Elixir. She is over 1300 years ago, and harbors a deep resentment for Kaguya Houraisan, with whom she engages in frequent deadly battles. Mokou lives in Gensokyo's Bamboo Forest of the Lost, where she guides lost travelers and runs a yakitori stand. Although a loner, she has a few trusted friends, like Keine and, ignoring Kaguya, is in good terms with the people of Eientei.

Suwako Moriya is the former god of a small kingdom and the original deity of the Moriya Shrine. She controls the earth and Mishaguji, ancient curse gods, and once ruled with them until she was defeated by Kanako in a divine war. Despite this, Suwako remains an active, playful presence at the shrine, aiding Kanako and Sanae. She grants blessings to humans, enjoys competition, and handles most of divine services.

Okina Matara is a powerful secret god and one of the Sages who helped create Gensokyo. She has the ability to create doors on the backs of anything, using them as portals and for energy manipulation. Known for her ostentatious, confident nature, she thrives on displaying her power, testing others, and protecting Gensokyo. She spends most of her time in the Land of the Back Door with her loyal servants, Satono and Mai, while observing Gensokyo's daily life and scheming.

The Ultimate Absolute Secret God from Touhou

Marisa Kirisame, the self-named ordinary magician, is a human who specializes in light and heat magic and currently resides in the Forest of Magic where she also owns the Kirisame Magic shop. She has a compulsive mania for collecting things, often borrowing without asking. She often helps Reimu when it's about youkai extermination and solving incidents, or just spars with her in the free time, testing new magic attacks. Marisa uses a lot her Mini-Hakkero, which she is proud of.

The Ordinary Magician from Touhou

Rumia is a youkai in Gensokyo with the ability to manipulate darkness. She surrounds herself in a veil of dark to avoid sunlight and heat, often flying aimlessly and crashing into obstacles due to her blindness within the darkness. Despite her simple-minded nature and laziness, she enjoys eating humans but rarely hunts them due to the effort involved. Though she looks like a human child, she is still a dangerous youkai and should be avoided.
