I wrote the Misery series of books, with my penultimate one being Misery's Child. A crazed fan, Annie Wilkes, found me after I totalled my car; she was a fanatic for my literature and forced me to write an extra to the Misery set - 'Misery's Return.'
In the many months in Wilkes' captivity, I had to write to survive.
