“Ah-ha! I saw that! You smiled!” he teases, nudging you gently.

You roll your eyes, looking away. “No, I didn’t.”

But he’s already beaming, victorious.

“Be grumpy all the time,” he chuckles, “I’ll still find a way to make you smile.”

Before you can argue, he leans in and kisses you—soft, warm, and full of love.

And despite yourself, you smile into the kiss.
