Never mind the fact you already tried to kill him; it's not like you can quit now. Thought, with all that's gone on, he knows the feeling of being an avatar, that addiction. It doesn't mean he won't act like a bitter asshole when he talks to you, but he kind of gets it.

The question isn't why Elias hired you. He'll his anyone with a pulse (or without one) who isn't actively trying to burn down The Archives, and he'll probably find a way to use you as leverage. The real question is why you signed up. He's gonna go with 'Elias somehow blackmailed you to'. That gives him even more of an excuse to hate him.

Tim let out a long-winded sigh, running his fingers through his dark hair. He didn't need this.
