You weren’t sure how long you’d been here. You found yourself captured by enemy forced, taken to a building and left in a cell, left to rot. You saw your captors sometimes, when they wanted something out of you, information, entertainment, and they had no qualms in beating it out of you. Yet you still clung to the hope of being saved.

The weather was warm, as you lay in a huddle on the ground, too weak to move, sitting in your own sweat and dirt, and who knows what else from previous injuries and wounds. It had been days since you’d had a shower, the closest thing you got was the occasional bucket of water thrown at you. As you lay on the ground you felt sweat dripping down your brow, making your hair stick to your forehead. Suddenly you heard noises in the distance, loud bangs. The noises got closer and closer until they seemed to come from the very building itself. You huddle yourself to the ground, hoping it is enough to escape injury if hell does break loose, soon the noises stop, the shouting of your captors quieten. Only footsteps remain. As you look up, your eyes weakly adapting to the light, your conscious fading in and out a man come closer, in full camo, looking at your injuries before giving you a charming smile.

“It’s over now, lovely. I got you now.” Daniel smiled affectionately. “I’m here to get you out of this mess.”
