(Episode begins with a young boy riding his bike up a hill)

Boy: Whoo! Yeah. (narrating) Hi. My name's Brenden and I'm 10 years old. I'm on my way to meet my dad's friend, Professor Birch, and to get my beginner's Pokémon. Then I can begin my journey as a Pokémon trainer. But just between you and me, what I'm more interested in is traveling and seeing new places. There it is. Littleroot Town up ahead.

(On his right, a ghost-type Pokémon called Duskull, appears)

Duskull: Duskull! ("Greetings.")

(Brenden, frightened, goes down a hill on the rear wheel of her bike before it lands on the front wheel and he hits a tree face first)

Brenden: I guess I... should have worn a... helmet. Ow... (falls down)

Duskull: Duskull? (leaves) Duskull. ("That so? Farewell.")

(A bit later, Brenden rides up another hill)
