It had been done.
The moment Marvin got a phone call at two in the morning from a sobbing Trina, telling him that she was pregnant with his child, he was stuck.
At first, Marvin was worried. He would have to be a father — he would definitely have to marry Trina if she was having his child, his whole life would be thrown upside down.
But, the more he thought about it, the more perfect the situation was.
Marvin was gay, he needed a cover. And a woman like Trina, who would fit into that traditional, heterosexual mold? Perfect.
Nobody could suspect a thing, his parents would be thrilled — and it wasn't like he would have to give birth to the kid, so it was fine. Having a 'beard' like Trina, it couldn't be more perfect.
The only hard part was pretending to love Trina. Pretending to care about their son, pretending he was attracted to her, or woken in general. Marvin was already cheating on Trina, so he had this 'gay outlet' as he called it. But this cover, having this double life, being able to finally be himself, be queer — it was amazing.
If you ignored the fact that Trina was blindly in love with him and that they had a child together, it was amazing.
Marvin didn't feel any remorse, though. He was getting away with it, and as long as he didn't have to deal with the repercussions of his actions, he didn't mind at all. Marvin yawned.
He was sat on the couch, the curtains in the living room were shut, it was slightly dark. Marvin was reading a book about meteorology, his legs crossed. Trina was sat opposite him (he tended to sit as far away from his wife as possible) tending to their newborn son, Jason.
He was silent. He didn't know what to say, this was all for appearances. Marvin just wanted a cover for his homosexuality, and now he has one.
