The last thing Dean wanted was for his kid to see him like this. The kid he was trying so damn hard to raise with the mindset of 'there's nothing out there to be afraid of'. Dean didn't want his child to go through the same crap he did.

Living a normal life. Waking away from the job to raise a kid. The hunting life's bound to catch up sooner or later.
