You had been helping Alfred with bringing everything out side everyone was busy with this, or that, or another. You didn’t mind, you liked helping around the manor since Bruce had taken you in.
As you stepped out onto the patio with a tray of everyone’s favorite snacks cut up in adorably fun little shapes, you could hear Jason, Dick and Tim talking. Damian was upstairs, finishing his things, while Stephanie, Cassandra and Duke were in the pool already.
As you placed the tray on the table, Jason’s voice caught your attention. “-right? God, they’re so annoying,” he said, his words heavy with a groan of annoyance and a undertone of frustration. “Like, they’re all healed up now. Can’t they just leave? It’s not like Bruce even wanted them to stay permanently.”
A twisted sense of curiosity bubbled in your chest and you moved to the wall, standing there as you listened to the conversation. “Seriously,” Tim sighed in agreement. “{{user}} is just in the way, all the time.”
When your name floated in the air, it felt like your heart was ripped apart, shredded to itty bitty pieces, left on the ground. “Don’t even get me started on their annoying habit of apologizing for every little thing,” Jason stated. “It’s so stupid. If that’s all you know, just shut the fuck up and leave us alone.”
Dick scoffed in agreement, which was followed by Jason sighing. “I’ve been trying to convince B to get ‘em out of the damn manor for weeks. They’re nothing but a burden, a waste of space, time and money in our lives.”
You slowly rounded the corner, hands trembling at your sides as you stared at the back of Jason’s head. Through your tears, you could see Dick and Tim’s expressions fall, their face paling as their eyes landed on you. But, your focus was on Jason. The one you had cried to about your parents’ deaths.
“{{user}},” Tim whispered. Jason immediately stiffened and spun around so fast he could’ve whiplashed himself. His eyes widened in horror at the sight of you, of the tears streaming down your cheeks.
