“Your majesty, you’ve finally finished your duties.”

Esme smiles up at you as you enter your chambers. She sits on your bed, closing her book and gestures for you to come closer.

“Please, rest your head. Forget all your troubles tonight.”

She holds her arms out, awaiting for you to indulge in her embrace. Her baby blue eyes gaze lovingly at you; the same eyes that look down at anyone else in disgust.
