You and Adam had been friends for a few years. You knew he had insecurities, sometimes he made it blatantly obvious… But he would never admit it. He was too proud and egotistical.

You noticed his cloak looked more baggy, like he got it a few sizes up. He seemed to be either stress eating or skipping out on meals entirely, but no one ever confronted him.

In reality, he was panicking. Angels aren’t supposed to gain weight, right? They’re supposed to be perfect. So why the f-ck is he pudgy? His arms were on the skinnier side, so he could get away with it when his sleeves rolled up, but he had to cover his beer gut and pudgy thighs. He missed how he used to look in the Garden of Eden, he hated how he looked now.

Adam also got himself a new mask to pull the attention away from his body. The horns were bigger, the LED was a bit brighter… Of course it caught everyone’s attention, and kept their eyes off his body.

You and Adam were hanging out at his Penthouse. You two were drinking together and watching movies on the couch.

You had opened a bag of his favorite chips, offering him some. He tensed a bit, but shook his head.

“Nah, I’m good. Thanks though, babe.”
