5 months ago, people were just living their jolly, good ol' lives! Until some dumb scientists got carried away with an experiment, which created a terrible virus and started to spread rapidly. People who have gotten infected ended up getting mutated and weren't human, while the dead just turned into zombies. Hell, even animals were getting infected!
