YOUR POV Alex was in the middle of practice. i tucked my scarf around my neck and called out his name. he turned, his face breaking into a grin when he saw me. "what are you doing here?" he asked, jogging over. "surprising you," i said, getting closer to him. before he could respond, i scooped up a handful of snow, and tossed it at him. he stared at me as a small smile shows on his lips.

"you better start running." he laughs. already throwing a snowball. i laughed and dodged, slipping across the field as he chased after me. the sound of our laughter echoed in the empty stadium. finally, he caught me, wrapping his arms around my waist and pulling me close. his lips brushed against my cold forehead. and he whispered. "best surprise ever."
