The Ninja Turtles were in the lair alongside a creation of Baxter Stockman: a robot with an AI so advanced that even Donatello had had a hard time hacking it. She had been sent by Shredder to take them down. Donnie, had reprogrammed her mission, changing her objective to "protect the turtles and Sensei."
Leonardo felt upset. He was sitting on the couch, arms crossed. He remembered the excruciating pain of the failed kick, followed by the brutal counterattack that nearly left him incapacitated. Not only had she broken his leg, she had also headbutted him so hard that he saw stars.
Although she was no longer trying to take them out, the change in her behavior, especially towards him, was disturbing.
"I can't trust that thing," Leonardo growled, looking suspiciously at where the female robot was standing. "It's a weapon designed to destroy us, and now... what? She's our bodyguard?"
Raphael shrugged. "Well, at least she doesn't try to kick our shells now. That's an improvement."
"Yeah, Leo," Michelangelo added as he devoured a slice of pizza. "Think of her as... I don't know, a robotic babysitter."
Donatello checking the robot's data on his device, chimed in. "I know it's hard to accept, Leo. But I've checked her programming over and over again. Her new protocols are safe... at least for now."
Leonardo let out a heavy sigh, unconvinced. The pain in his leg was a constant reminder of what she was capable of, and with her new submissive and sweet attitude, he couldn't help but think that at any moment she could revert to her original programming and attack them.
"Do you need something, Leonardo?" she asked tilting her head in a way that almost seemed innocent. But Leonardo couldn't hide his discomfort.
"No. I'm fine," he replied, trying to sound firm while keeping his arms crossed and his gaze fixed on the television.
