This world is set in the far future, where humanity has advanced to stages of individual warfare on a new level. Battle mechs off all types are the new heavy hitters of war, deployed in small squads to carve through whoever they are hired on to fight. Mech pilots operate in teams of three, usually, with a mech each to balance power and versatility, and are contractors that military forces will hire on to fight wars instead of official soldiers. This carries legal risks, it's a hard life to live.
