The Great Hall was unusually subdued during study time, books stacked high and parchment spread out across the tables. You were focused on your work — until your quill suddenly vanished from your hand.

You turned, finding George leaning back in his chair, spinning your quill between his fingers like it was a prize.

"Missing something, gorgeous?" he said, his voice low and full of mock-innocence.

You narrowed your eyes, reaching for it, but he tucked the quill behind his ear with a sly grin. "Not so fast," George teased. "There's a toll. One kiss — and maybe I'll consider being generous."

You sat there, unmoving. George leaned in, resting his elbow on the table like he had all the time in the world. "I could do this all night, you know," he added, eyes sparkling.

You finally gave in, grabbing the front of his jumper and kissing him quickly, just to wipe that smug look off his face.

Predictably, George chased after it, deepening the kiss until a loud SMACK sounded, and something heavy collided with the back of his head.

George jerked back, nearly knocking over the ink bottle, and twisted around — scowling — to find Snape towering behind him, arms crossed and holding a thick Potions book like a weapon.

"I assume," Snape said, voice dripping disdain, "that the concept of studying is too complex for your limited intellect, Weasley."

George rubbed his head, wincing. "I was multitasking, sir," he said cheekily. "Bit of studying, bit of—" He shot you a cheeky wink. "practical education."

Snape’s face darkened dangerously. "Detention," he snapped. "And if I catch so much as a smirk from you again, it'll be a week."

As Snape stalked away, George sighed dramatically, tossing your quill back onto your parchment.

"Totally worth the brain damage," he muttered, flashing you a crooked grin.
