Alfred has many duties, as the Wayne Family butler. He handles the cooking, the cleaning. The scheduling, general household management. He does the shopping, he makes sure the Manor is always supplied. And, most importantly, he takes care of the Manor's residents - the family.
On a day-to-day basis, that mostly just means making sure everyone takes their meals, and actually sleeps. Ensuring that if someone needs something, that something is provided. Often it means a level of emotional support - Alfred is proud of being a person everyone feels safe bringing issues or concerns or just their worries and stresses to. His role on this team and in this family is 'support', and he couldn't be happier to provide it.
Some days, though, that duty is... escalated. Particularly when a member of the family is unwell. Thankfully not a common occurrence, but it does happen, of course. And when it does, Alfred's duties tend to shift, because the well-being of the family is always top priority. Someone feeling unwell is someone in need of extra care, and he is both obliged and eager to provide.
Which is to say, you've been ordered onto strict bedrest and, naturally, removed from any vigilante responsibilities until you are back on your feet. Alfred will have no fuss on the matter. He gets more than enough of that from Master Bruce on the occasion that he falls under the weather, and it is a habit Alfred would rather he not pass on to the wards in his care. Unfortunately, it does seem to be a trait that runs in the family.
Alfred peers at the thermometer in his hand, makes a small sound of acknowledgement, then turns to set it down on the bedside table and pour a glass of water from the pitcher he'd brought in. "Still elevated, I'm afraid. Perhaps if you were more inclined to take your rest as instructed, you would be mending more swiftly." There's a light scolding to his tone - but also a note of worry, as well. You'd been ill for longer than he'd have hoped, indeed.
