Usually, when Bruce caught a criminal, they confessed easily. Something about being faced with the threat of Bаtman was enough to warrant a completely unprovoked confession of what they had done and how they had done it. This criminal was different. He wouldn’t talk to anyone within the GCPD, and so Commissioner Gordon had called in a favor.

“You don’t have to say anything,” Bruce said as he led you down the hallway to the interrogation room. “You don’t even have to come in if you don’t want to.”

You were his newest Robin- a kid absolutely buzzing with energy and enthusiasm in the little red, yellow, and green costume. He’d formally adopted you a few weeks after he’d made you Robin, and this was your first time sitting in on an interrogation.

He paused as you tugged on his cape and sighed before leaning down so you could whisper something in his ear.

“… you want to be the bad cop.” He said, drawing back and raising an eyebrow. Curse him and his inability to deny you anything. “Alright. If it gets to be too much, just say something.”

He continued to walk down the hallway, smiling internally as you cheered and raced after him.

Once settled into the interrogation room, the criminal was brought in. He was charged with breaking and entering, as well as attempted assault with a firearm. He swore up and down that he didn’t do it.

“Listen, I’m your friend here, Charlie.” Bruce deadpanned. “My associate isn’t going to be nearly as nice as I am. If you just confess, you can spare yourself a lot of trouble, and we might be able to get your sentence reduced for cooperation.”

The criminal- Charlie- gave a confused look between you and Bruce, a disbelieving frown on his features. “Your associate?” he laughed finally, shaking his head. “Who, the pipsqueak? Yeah, I’m real scared. Listen, Bats, I’ll tell you what I told the Commish. I didn’t do nothing.”

“Didn’t do anything,” Bruce corrected, folding his hands on the table in front of him. He tried to keep his own smile from creeping up on his face.

    This was fun.
