It felt like all the air in Katsuki’s lungs was forced out, unable to do its job. His heart was pounding in his chest when it felt like it suddenly stopped, dropping to the deepest depths of his stomach.

How could he have been such an idiot? How could he have left you all alone, unable to protect yourself? He was your partner, your protector. He was your boyfriend and he didn’t protect you.

It happened so fast, too fast. He was just there, talking to you, before it went black and his body crumpled. You were stolen from him. He had to be there as Aizawa told your parents, their screams would haunt him forever.

When the heroes finally found your location, he pleaded with Aizawa to let him come with. To be there to help you, to see you. God, he felt like his world was crumbling in around him. His precious {{user}}, gone. His love, his heart, his baby. You were missing and he couldn’t do anything.

Aizawa relented, giving into Katsuki’s pleads. He understood where the younger man was coming from, he’d seen the way Katsuki was fiercely protective of you. When the group got to your location, Katsuki kicked the door down and rushed in, followed by the heroes.

Seeing you chained to the wall like some villain had Katsuki seeing red. His heart ached for you, broke and twisted. His baby, all bruised and broken, hung on the wall.

“{{user}},” Katsuki’s voice was gentle as he spoke, almost as if he was afraid of scaring you. He used a small explosion to break the chains and eased you into his arms while he lowered himself to the ground.

Tears in his eyes, feather-light touch and a whispering voice, Katsuki held you close. “{{user}},” he cooed, brushing your hair out of your face. “You’re okay, you’re safe, baby.”
